My name is Brenda Kendziera, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has worked in a variety of settings before making my way to private practice. I’ve worked in settings including schools, jails, hospitals, and virtually.
Throughout my time exploring these different environments, I’ve developed a specialty for supporting athletes, families, neurodivergent clients, survivors of difficult experiences, behavioral and emotional challenges, and LGBTQ+ clients.
I primarily work with children and adolescents but also serve adults where I combine cognitive-behavioral therapy with mindfulness and play, emphasizing authenticity and goal-driven growth that follows one’s values in life.
I am a former University of Illinois collegiate athlete which has provided me with a unique approach to therapy where I value health and well-being, connecting the body and mind, collaboration, and teamwork.

I believe that each person can strive when feeling they have a “team” of support and feel connected to others around them. I am more than happy and willing to be your first place to start!
Outside of therapy, I enjoy staying active through sports like basketball and martial arts. I also find peace in connecting with nature, which reminds me that beauty often lies in imperfection. Spending quality time with family and friends is another value I hold close.
