Individual Therapy
New Day Counseling takes a holistic approach to counseling and developing a treatment plan for each client. Your treatment may include one or more of the following interventions.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, together with commitment and behavior change strategies.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT is a cognitive based approach that empowers individuals with skills to improve their thoughts and emotions through the four skills of: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Relational Psychodynamic Therapy
Psychodynamic therapy aims to uncover and address the root causes of psychological distress, often buried in the unconscious mind. Psychodynamic therapy encourages clients to develop awareness of their emotions and process unresolved feelings.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
This approach teaches skills to modify dysfunctional thinking and behaviors to move you toward your desired change.
Child-Centered Play Therapy Interventions
Play therapy utilizes play, children's natural medium of expression, to help them express their feelings more easily through toys instead of words. Play therapy is typically targeted to children ages 3 to 11 who have social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties.
Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy
This is a type of therapy specifically designed to address the effects of traumatic experiences. It aims to help individuals process and heal from the emotional, cognitive, and behavioral consequences of trauma.
Rapid Resolution Therapy (RRT)
RRT is a quick, fun, and effective method of resolving undesired thoughts and feelings. This method creates long lasting change within 1-3 sessions.
Parent-Child Bonding via Theraplay
Theraplay is a form of structured play therapy designed to strengthen the attachment between parents and their child. It is therapist led, who serves as a guide and observer of the activities and interactions.
ADHD and Austism Interventions
Therapists are certified and trained in specific modalities, skills, and behavior modification tools for individuals on the spectrum. This could look like a combination of CBT and another intervention. We also support educational advocacy to ensure kids are supported where they learn, thrive, and grow.
